Field Studies
During the trip the class will go out into the field to learn. This may include doing a beach transect, collecting data on forestry plots, or studying tide pools or an intertidal zone along the ocean. It may also include going to a fish farm, fish hatchery, lumber and/or pulp and paper mills, farms, museums, art galleries and/or taking a guided walk in the rainforest. The purpose of the field studies is to serve as a method for covering several educational outcomes at once and to reinforce what the students have learned in class. |
Guest Speakers and Visitations
During the trip as the class visits different places guest speakers will talk about the organizations they work for. The students are expected to listen and take notes. |
